Growing a greener world with Tree Nation

At the heart of our ethical approach to business is our commitment to environmental sustainability. We are passionate about reducing the environmental impact of our operations and those of our customers through carbon offsetting. This is why we have joined Tree Nation's mission to reforest the planet and help create a sustainable future for generations to come.

Heavy industry, the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation have all contributed to rising levels of CO2 in the atmosphere. This increase has led to global warming and climate change, which are devastating the planet's ecosystems and biodiversity. Tree Nation is a not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to reforesting the world in an effort to combat climate change. Since 2006, the project has planted over 31 million trees, restored over 28,000 hectares of forest, and offset almost 5 million tonnes of CO2.

Trees absorb and store CO2 from the atmosphere. Over its lifetime, one tree can offset up to 250kg of carbon. Tree Nation enables environmentally conscious individuals and companies to help fight against climate change by supporting a wide range of global tree planting programmes. We have joined the reforestation platform to offset our CO2 emissions, mitigate climate change, conserve biodiversity, and promote social and economic stability. Together, we are helping to reverse deforestation, protect global biodiversity and support local communities.

Supporting global reforestation

Since partnering with Tree Nation, we have planted over 500 trees in 18 projects around the world, including in Peru, Tanzania and Nepal.

This has enabled us to capture almost 200 tonnes of CO2. By actively participating in Tree Nation's global reforestation programmes to offset our emissions, we hope to create a more sustainable and resilient future. As our business grows, so will our tree population.

Boré, Kenya

In 2007, Tree Nation started a project to help the people of Boré, Kenya, find sustainable ways to conserve their tropical forest, which is still in a very fragile state.

The project aims to prevent deforestation, provide alternative sources of food and medicine, offset CO2 levels, create sustainable livelihoods, and improve education for local children. To date, 284,193 trees have been planted through Tree Nation's tree planting platform, offsetting 71,540,213 kg of CO2. The project has become one of Kenya's largest community forestry initiatives.

Eden Reforestation Projects, Mozambique

The Eden Reforestation Project in Mozambique began in 2018. Charcoal production and timber collection largely depleted and destroyed the country's vast mangrove estuaries and forests.

This project supports local communities to restore, replant and protect their forest systems. Eden's ‘Employ to Plant’ methodology provides employment at the planting sites, resulting in positive socio-economic improvements. To date, 511,852 trees have been planted through Tree Nation, offsetting 26,780,200 kg of CO2.
